Sgt. York Comes To Mangum

SERGEANT YORK TO REACH CITY THIS AFTERNOON

Coming to Attend Annual Tennessee Picnic and Hotel Opening.

Sergeant Alvin C. York of Pall Mall Tennessee will arrive in Mangum at four o’clock this afternoon to be the guest of Tennesseans of Southwest Oklahoma tomorrow and to attend the Saturday night banquet at the Hotel Franklin.  A large delegation of American Legion members will be at the Rock Island depot to meet the distinguished American soldier and Tennessee educator.   Sergeant York will be principal speaker at both the Tennessee picnic and the hotel banquet. He is making the trip from Tennessee for these two occasions. He will leave Mangum Saturday night, going to Elk City to board the midnight Rock Island train.
